With the advent of digital video recorders (DVRs), analog CCTV system equipment such as multiplexers, quads, time-lapse VCRs and videotapes are becoming quickly outdated.

Digital video recorders allow live camera images or previously-recorded video images to be viewed on video monitors, desktop computers, over a computer network or across the Internet. Your new DVR can be setup to record video when motion is detected in the camera's field of view. Recording based on motion will save you from having to play back hours of video tape that may not change with the potential to pass by an event without noticing. Events that are recorded based on motion can be saved as "alarm events", allowing immediate retrieval from the DVR's hard drive.

Securitronics can provide DVR's with 4, 6, 8, 9, 16 and 32 video camera inputs.

Most DVR's will be provided with an internal CD or DVD burner to allow our customers to save and share events as needed. With network connectivity, archiving video to your network drive will allow mass storage of video from your system.
